Description:
Beautiful stylized
faces peer from a warm, wooden surface; they symbolize unity.
Carefully hand-carved from tweneboa wood, they grace a drum
by Nana Adu Amankwapam I. This traditional percussion instrument
has its origin in northern Ghana. The name bougarabou indicates
the sound it makes. The goatskin head is firmly attached with
nylon rope and cotton-covered iron rings. The shapely body
of the drum is finished with mansion polish.
