Description:
Samuel Coleman
crafts a handsome djembe that he names Fontomfrom. In Ghana,
the traditional Fontomfrom dance is performed by people from
the royal family. It sends messages understood only by royalty.
"The djembe also sends messages," Coleman says. Hewn from a
block of tweneboa wood, this traditional instrument is finished
mansion polish. The goatskin head is affixed by iron rings wrapped
in cotton, and a macramé nylon cord can be slung over the shoulder.
An adrinkra symbol known as bin nka be adorns the base; it means
"peace and harmony."

"I purchased
a djembe "Adowa" as a birthday present to myself. I was hesitant
to purchase a drum online without actually handling it and playing
it. It arrived on time and is a beautiful piece of work. I am enjoying
the crisp voice of my new drum. This djembe is my new favourite
amongst my other drums. Thank you."
